Review of 2023

Perhaps, a bit like at a dinner party, it’s best to avoid politics and religion in our Christmas round up, and instead give you a little bit of an insight into what it’s been like at Ink this year. It’s easy to say ‘We’ve been busy’, but we really have.

An office move at the start of 2023. We are very happy to be in our new home at The Point, in Market Harborough. We will be even happier once the renovation work finishes this side of Christmas and our team are able to come back and enjoy the new facilities. We hope that you will come and see us in person sometime in 2024 too. Our HR team has just launched a leadership development programme (From Manager to Leader), and several of the modules will be held at the office, so we are excited about the delegates meeting each other and collaborating together in the new space. Plans are also afoot to hold some networking with our business neighbours and local associates.

A business acquisition towards the end of 2023. This kept us busy all year, not least keeping the secret. It was just a whisper, in December last year, the idea of buying the employee benefits business from Wealth Wizards. After months of hard work, Andy, James and Jules have joined our close-knit team and we are delighted to welcome them, and the clients they have brought with them, to Ink.

With so much change, we decided to spend our Christmas Company Day learning about each other as part of an Insights workshop. Hosted by The Colour Works, the idea was to discover our working styles and preferences to enable us to collaborate internally more effectively. It was undoubtedly one of the most useful ‘team building’ sessions we’ve ever organised.

By far and away the biggest talking point this year has been the new images on our Teams backgrounds. Ice breaker and conversation starter, much like the Insights session, it’s shown our personality and brought some fun to our online sessions. We do need to find a name for the Ink Zebra … suggestions on a Christmas card please.

Ask a busy person to do something and they’ll get it done. No doubt we will be busy in 2024 but we will get it done and we are excited about the year ahead. Enjoy the festive break and we look forward to seeing you next year. Our office is open again on the 2nd January.
