The furlough scheme presented a lifeline for many businesses in the UK, as we all know. We have been pleased to help our clients make sense of the scheme and to use it to protect jobs. Understanding it all from a payroll point of view has been somewhat painful (yeah, thanks a lot Rishi!) but we are pleased to have been able to help clients to calculate and receive their grants in good time.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme was one of those exceptional curve balls that comes along every now and then … and for a business like ours it demanded a quick and thorough interpretation of the rules, and a swift and practical application of the process. We always work closely with our lawyers (thank you Kimbra and team at Knights) when we need to dig deep to understand complex matters and, of course, we were able to get on top of the CJRS. Now the furlough scheme has been reinstated for the month of November, we are poised to offer support for those who need it.
