Payroll FAQs

How much does outsourcing Payroll cost?

It does depend on a few factors such as the size and complexity of your business, and the range of services you want to outsource.

As standard, we charge a monthly service fee and a price per payslip per month. Contact us to arrange a quote.

Our payroll business is about added value, we never compete on price.

Can you administer our Workplace Pension and Auto Enrolment compliance?

Yes, this is one of the main features of Ink’s payroll function. As regulated pension advisers we have always had a deep understanding of workplace pensions and auto enrolment compliance. Our payroll team collaborate regularly with our pensions team to share knowledge and improve client outcomes.

We manage all assessments, calculate contributions, send all statutory correspondence, and then manage your pension administration directly with your provider.

Do you have an online portal we can access?

Yes, we encourage our clients and their employees to engage digitally using our various portals. This reduces risk, increases efficiency and improves the user experience of outsourcing.

What about P11d and Payrolling Benefits?

As you can imagine, as a regulated advisory firm specialising in Employee Benefits and insurances, we are very experienced in managing both P11d submissions and the newer, digital option of Payrolling Benefits. Payrolling benefits will be mandatory in 2026, so it will be important to plan for this change well in advance.

Payrolling Benefits is managed as part of your monthly processing, and costs £10 per employee per year for this service. We recommend to all clients with taxable benefits in kind to opt for Payrolling Benefits.

How big is your Payroll team?

Our team is managed by Sherry Trusler and overseen by the Directors. The team are all experienced payroll practitioners, CIPP affiliated and directly employed by The Ink Group.

We have committed to focusing on cloud-based payroll, for monthly paid staff only. This means that our procedures are very robust and repeatable, and we have significant capacity within the team for expansion.

Is it easy to switch payroll provider?

We think so, although it should never be rushed. There is some setup work required on both sides, that’s why we recommend a 3-month lead in time for taking on a new payroll.

During that time, we will safely onboard your employee data, year to date payroll information, establish HMRC (PAYE) agency and complete at least two parallel runs with your existing provider / systems.

We only go live when you are satisfied that we can replicate your payroll with 100% accuracy.

Can you pay our employees and HMRC each month?

Yes, we manage a range of different payment options including BACS and Faster Payments. We can also prepare output files in the correct format for any UK bank so that you can make your own payments. We call this our ‘Settlements’ process and this will be discussed with you in detail during your implementation journey.
