GEN A: What matters most at work?
Last week we ran an activity with The Business Hub Work Experience CIC for a group of 15-year-old students from Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough.
We asked a simple question: "What matters most at work?"
Each student voted for the employee benefit they valued most.
And the clear winner?
Flexible working.
Enhanced annual leave, employee discounts and pension contributions also received votes, while some of the more traditional benefits didn't. It got us thinking...
Since the day-one right to request flexible working was introduced in 2024, we've seen workplace expectations shift. Perhaps it's no surprise that a generation who have grown up seeing flexible working as part of everyday life already view it as one of the most valuable workplace benefits. This was only a small group rather than a large-scale survey, but it was still an interesting snapshot of what the next generation values most at work.
It's another reminder that benefits shouldn't stand still. As workplace expectations continue to evolve, so should your benefits strategy. If it's time for a review, we'd love to help. Get in touch with us today at hello@theinkgroup.co.uk.
