Workplace Pension 121s

When you consider that most employers are spending at least 3% of their wage roll on Workplace Pensions, and some much more, it is surprising that a little more time and money isn’t spent on making sure employees really understand and value this benefit. One of Ink’s most popular services is the Workplace Pension 1:1. This is usually a 30-minute session either face to face or online, where your pension scheme members can speak directly to an Ink specialist and ask any questions related to their retirement planning.

We get so many great questions ranging from how to transfer old pensions to how the State Pension works and we can quickly add value without giving financial advice. Perhaps the most important and satisfying part of this work, though, is helping people visualise their retirement outcome based on what they are doing now. We use a bit of fact finding and a simple calculator to help members assess whether they are on track to maintain their current standard of living in retirement. If they are behind the curve, we’ll help them understand what they can do to get on the right path. A small increase in employee contributions in your 20’s can fundamentally change a retirement outcome because of the power of compound growth.

We regularly receive extremely positive feedback about these sessions and Christopher Bauer - Systems & IT Manager, Shepherd Global Ltd said recently: "I had some huge black holes around pensions and Billy was fantastic in answering them all and I can say I'm certainly better placed than before!"
